Sylvie

Homegroup: Thame Wednesday 19:30 – 21:00

Hi, my name is Sylvie and I’m an alcoholic!

I joined AA  a number  of years ago when my life got very difficult and I became very unhappy due to alcohol. I took the plunge and rang the helpline and spoke to a very helpful lady who encouraged me to meet her at an Oxford lunchtime meeting. I plucked up courage and met her at Tuesday lunchtime Oxford. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.

My home group is Thame Wednesday where I’ve done all service positions.  I also do a couple of Oxford meetings.

I’m at present Health Liaison Officer for SMIG and am in close contact with The Alcohol Team of nurses at the John Radcliffe Hospital. If there are any patients who want to reach out to AA they contact me.  This has been such a valuable service position and has helped me to stay sober and reach the still suffering alcoholic.
